What's New in Jigcar - April, May & June 2026

It's been a bumper quarter. The headlines: carpooling, a brand new analytics agent alongside a rebuilt analytics page, carryovers, and a self-service booking portal for transport providers. There's plenty more underneath too. Here's what's new:

🚗 Carpooling is Live

Jigcar now surfaces chances for drivers to share a journey. When one driver's empty return leg overlaps a trip another driver is already making, Jigcar suggests they ride together, turning an empty leg into a shared one.

Why it matters: Empty legs are expensive. Carpooling turns them into shared trips.

📊 A New Analytics Agent and a Rebuilt Analytics Page

Two big changes to analytics this quarter.

A Rebuilt Analytics Page

The Analytics page has had a big rebuild, giving transport managers a fuller picture of their operation:

  • Summary KPIs: total movements, average movements per car, days to move, distance, on-time rate, total cost, cost per movement and cost per mile

  • Breakdowns and charts: business area, transport method, stock type, cost per mile by transport type and internal versus 3PL cost

  • Inefficiency drill-downs: aborted, returning, moved-more-than-once and over-SLA movements, each with a full per-vehicle table you can export to CSV

  • Performance: per-driver and per-provider rollups for on-time rate, abort rate and cost per mile

  • Saved filters and custom layouts: build a filter once, reapply in a click, and hide the widgets you don't need

The Analytics Agent (New)

A conversational assistant now lives inside the app. Instead of hunting through dashboards, you can ask questions about your transport data in plain English and get an instant answer, then drill straight into the numbers behind it. Ask things like:

  • What was my on-time delivery rate last month?

  • Which 3PL had the most movements this quarter?

  • How do my transport costs break down by site?

🔁 Carryovers

When a route can't be finished in a day, planners can now carry the last leg over. The driver takes the car home with them and completes the final leg the next day. You can apply carryovers in bulk from the Gantt chart or one route at a time in just a few simple clicks.

Carryovers are one of a growing set of features, carpooling among them, built for the particular challenges of trade plate and driven vehicle movements.

🛒 Customer Booking Portal for Transport Providers

Transport providers can now give their customers a branded, self-service page to request vehicle movements. Customers verify their email, look up a vehicle by registration, and submit single or multi-vehicle bookings with optional return legs and document uploads. Every request lands in Jigcar alongside the rest, and customers get confirmation, acceptance and rejection emails automatically.

Why it matters: It removes the email back-and-forth and manual re-keying that limits how much volume a provider can take on, and it reduces the risk of errors creeping in on the provider's side, protecting them from mistakes made when requests are entered by them.

More improvements this quarter

🚀 For Planners & TMS Users

Optimiser improvements. The optimiser now handles large plans smoothly. Editing large plans that used to slow down or time out is now close to instant. It also plans with more accurate traffic and public transport data: we pull traffic for each leg's planned departure time, re-route with live traffic on the day, and now include public transport waiting time as part of the journey.

A faster, rebuilt TMS. The Gantt chart and planning view are cleaner, more consistent and noticeably quicker, and now handle 50 or more routes and drivers on a single plan without slowing down. You can filter the plan down to the drivers, sites and route types you care about, and drag and drop jobs straight onto a plan from the Gantt chart.

Redesigned Movements table. Rebuilt on the new design system, with a customisable column picker so you choose which columns you see and drag them into the order that suits you.

Planned, predicted and actual timings. As drivers collect and deliver, the Gantt compares actual times against the plan and predicts the knock-on effect for the rest of the route, with labels showing how far things have drifted.

Site notifications. Contacts at a site can now receive a daily email listing the vehicles due to arrive at or leave their site that day, so site teams know what to expect without having to chase anyone for it.

📱 For Drivers

More reliable handovers. We've made the POC/POD flow much more resilient, especially on iPhones and poor connections. Photos and signatures are far less likely to be lost, the app stops you accidentally redoing a handover that's already part-submitted, and you get clearer retry options if something fails. Photo uploads are faster, and the image quality is much better too.

WhatsApp login. Drivers can now choose to receive their login code by WhatsApp instead of SMS. Handy when a carrier block or weak signal stops the text arriving.

Your week at a glance. A new Plan view in the driver app shows this week's and upcoming jobs in a calendar-style layout, so drivers can see what's ahead without waiting for the day to start.

Site contacts in the app. Drivers now see the saved contact name and phone number for collection and delivery sites, right under the address. No more copy-pasting contacts into job notes.

Smarter POC/POD rules. On journeys split across legs, we now only ask for proof of collection at the first pickup and proof of delivery at the final drop-off. Jobs with a moDel PIN skip POC/POD, and POD damage entries are now pre-filled from the matching POC.

🚚 More for Transport Providers

  • Notes and tags on dealer jobs: providers can annotate jobs sent to them by dealers, and accepting a job no longer wipes the original note

  • Distance-banded pricing: we can now store a provider's rate card by distance band so movement costs are calculated automatically

🔗 Integrations & Platform

  • Tags, everywhere: add tags when creating a movement, then view, filter and search them across the movements table, the TMS and the driver app

  • Automatic POC/POD emails: documents can be sent automatically to the requestor or a per-customer distribution list on completion

  • Transport provider details in the flyout: see the assigned provider and their contact details next to the movement you're already looking at

📈 What's Coming

We're actively working on:

  • A Jigcar planning agent: a chat assistant inside the TMS that plans your day in plain English. Ask it things like "what's unplanned tomorrow?" or "put AB12 CDE on John's route", and it reads the live plan and makes the change for you. In early testing now, with a wider rollout to follow

  • Co-Buyer: our AI stock intelligence agent that helps buyers decide what to buy and where to place it. Rolling out to the first customers now - book a demo with the team to learn more

  • Invoicing: raise and manage invoices directly in Jigcar
