The Jiminny Desktop App lets you record your meetings without a visible notetaker joining the call. Instead of adding a bot as a participant, the app records the meeting from your own computer and then sends it into Jiminny for transcription and AI analysis.

Before you start
You may need IT to install the app if your company restricts software installs. After installation, sign in with your Jiminny account.
You need a Recorder role to see meetings and use recording controls. Ask your Jiminny admin if you're not sure which role you have.
How Invisible Recording works
The Desktop App records the meeting window on your screen — including any screen shares shown in it. This means:
If the meeting window is not visible on your monitor, it will not be recorded. Audio will still be captured but there will be no video.
Screen share quality depends on how large the meeting window is on your screen. If the meeting is in a small or picture-in-picture window, the recording will reflect that quality. For best results, keep the meeting window open and maximised while recording.

Good to know
The Desktop App must be installed and running to record.
Only one meeting can be recorded at a time.
Recordings under 2 minutes are not saved.
On macOS, required permissions must be enabled before recording can work. If a permission is blocked, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, enable Jiminny for the blocked permission, and restart the app.
How to record a meeting
Join your meeting.
The Desktop App detects the meeting.
If 'Automatic Recording' is ON and the meeting is in your calendar, recording starts automatically. Otherwise, click Start Recording in the Desktop App.
During the meeting
While recording, you can pause, resume, stop, or take notes directly from the Desktop App.
You can monitor the recording status in two places:
The top bar of the Desktop App
The app icon — in the menu bar on macOS, or the system tray on Windows
Note: If you stop a recording and start again in the same meeting, Jiminny creates a new recording activity.
Adding notes
You can write time-stamped notes during the meeting or after it ends. Once you log the activity to your CRM, the notes are sent to the CRM record and can no longer be edited in Jiminny.
After the meeting
Once the meeting ends, the recording is saved to Jiminny. You'll find it under your recorded activities, with a transcript, summary, action items, and other conversation details.
Logging to your CRM
You can log recorded meetings to your CRM directly from the Desktop App. Depending on your organisation's settings, logging can be manual or automatic. If an activity is already logged, you can update the CRM record from the app.
If CRM logging is disabled for your team, the log option won't appear.
To learn more, see Manual or automatic CRM logging.
Recording settings, compliance and consent
The Desktop App follows your organisation's existing Jiminny recording, compliance, and consent settings.
To learn more, see the 'Compliance and Consent' section in Recording guide and settings.
Complete your account setup
Sometimes the Desktop App needs you to complete a step before you can continue — for example, reconnecting your CRM or finishing onboarding.
When this happens, click Open in Jiminny web and complete the required steps. Once done, return to the Desktop App — it will usually open your home page automatically. If it doesn't, click I've completed setup.
