How personal travel commission works
Personal travel earns the same commission rate as client bookings.

Self-booking policy
Fora is a travel advisory platform, not a personal discount service. The policy defines a self-booking pattern as more than 3 personal bookings without booking for any other clients within your first 6 months.
The pattern that triggers review is exclusively personal bookings with no client activity over several months. Advisors who start slowly on client bookings while also doing personal travel are not automatically in violation.
Why this policy exists: Supplier agreements assume Fora brings real client business. If advisors joined only to self-book, it could erode supplier trust and reduce preferred rates and perks for everyone.

Takeover bookings for self
A "takeover booking" means retroactively adding Fora's IATA number to a reservation you already made directly with a hotel or cruise line, in order to earn commission on it. Takeover bookings for your own travel are never allowed. If you booked a hotel directly before joining Fora, you cannot add Fora's IATA after the fact for personal reservations. Takeover policies for client bookings vary by supplier.
Commission vs. TA rates
Personal commission and travel agent rates are separate systems. TA (travel agent) rates—hotel discounts specifically for advisors—unlock at Pro status ($100,000 in annual bookings). As a new advisor, you earn commission on personal travel but won't automatically receive TA rate pricing.
