What results should I expect and when?

Typical weight loss timelines on GLP-1 treatment β€” what to expect in the first weeks, months, and long-term with Belle.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

GLP-1 results follow a gradual, staircase-like pattern - not a straight line. Most patients notice reduced appetite within the first two weeks, but meaningful scale changes typically start during weeks 2-8 as doses increase. A healthy average rate is about 0.5-2 pounds per week, with normal week-to-week fluctuations.

Weeks 0-2: You may notice less appetite and earlier fullness. The scale may not move much yet - this phase focuses on tolerability and learning your new hunger cues.

Weeks 2-8: As doses increase, most patients see gradual losses. Expect week-to-week ups and downs due to water, sodium, and menstrual cycles.

Months 3-6: Steadier losses and improved non-scale wins (waist measurement, energy, sleep, blood pressure). Small stalls of 1-3 weeks can happen - use them to refine protein, steps, sleep, and hydration.

Months 6-12: The rate often slows as you get closer to your goal. Expect periods of maintenance punctuated by fresh drops when habits tighten or activity increases.

If you hit a plateau (2-4+ weeks without change):

  • Audit the basics

    • Are you hitting 25--35 g protein per meal?

    • 2-3 L water?

    • 8-10k steps?

    • 7-9 hours of sleep?

If those are solid and you're tolerating your dose well, talk to your provider about whether a dose adjustment makes sense.

What influences your pace: Dose and titration timing, protein and fiber intake, hydration, movement (daily steps + strength training), sleep and stress, and overall consistency. Consistency beats intensity.
