Time Card Entries Report

Written by Marie London

We're excited to bring you an expanded reporting experience. If you don't see the reporting features described below, don't worry—this updated reporting experience will become available to your account over time.

Overview

The Time Card Entries Report provides a detailed, record-level view of staff clock-in and clock-out activity. It captures when staff started and ended their shifts, the total hours worked, and any associated timecard notes.

Use this report to audit staff attendance behavior, validate worked hours, identify missed or incorrect clock entries, and support payroll reconciliation and labor compliance. It reflects actual worked time based on timecard records rather than scheduled or booked hours.

What this report is best used for

Understand when and why to use this report through common use cases, descriptions, and example questions it can help answer in your day-to-day operations.

Use cases

Description

Example questions this report helps answer

Daily attendance audit

Review individual clock-in and clock-out records to ensure staff are logging time correctly.

  • Who clocked in late or missed clock-outs yesterday?

  • Are there incomplete timecard entries?

Missed / incorrect time entries

Identify missing clock-outs, duplicate entries, or abnormal durations.

  • Which timecards are missing a clock-out?

  • Are there unusually long or short shifts recorded?

Labor compliance monitoring

Ensure compliance with labor policies such as maximum shift duration or required breaks (where applicable).

  • Are any staff exceeding allowed working hours?

  • Are shifts compliant with labor policies?

Timecard notes and exceptions review

Review notes added to timecards for manual adjustments or exceptions.

  • What reasons are being logged for timecard edits or corrections?

Payroll validation

Validate worked hours before payroll processing by reviewing timecard durations.

  • How many hours did each staff member actually work this pay period?

  • Are there discrepancies in recorded hours?

While the first four use cases can be completed using the report as-is, the "Payroll validation" use case requires additional configuration to surface the relevant data. See Use Case Example Configurations for setup instructions.

Report Caveats

There are a few important caveats and limitations to be aware of when using this report. Use these details to better understand how the data behaves and how to interpret it correctly.

Caveats

Details and Impact

This report only includes completed timecards — staff currently clocked in will not appear

Only timecards with both a clock-in and a clock-out recorded are included in this report. A staff member who is currently clocked in — meaning their shift is still active and has no clock-out time — will not appear here until they clock out. This report cannot be used to see who is currently on the clock. To monitor active clock-ins in real time, use the dashboard view in Boulevard.

Voided timecards are not included in this report

Only active timecard records are surfaced here. Timecards that have been voided are excluded entirely. If Hours Clocked appears lower than expected for a staff member, voided entries may be the reason. Voided timecards can only be reviewed by modifying the is Active Filter
