Account Credit Balance Report |
Overview
The Account Credit Balance report helps you see which clients have outstanding credit balances as of a specific date. It shows account credit liabilities and receivables at the client level, giving you a point-in-time view of who holds unused credit and how much.
Use this report to understand your total financial liability tied up in account credits, identify which clients are holding balances, and answer client billing questions about their remaining credit. It's especially useful for finance reconciliation, since you can set the As of Date to match a general ledger period-end date and use Account Credit Liabilities as the reconciliation figure.
Note: Account credit balances are tracked at the client level only — there is no location breakdown, and clients with a $0 net balance won't appear in this report. See the Report Caveats section below for how Account Credit Liabilities, Receivables, and Balance differ.

Report Caveats
There are a few important caveats and limitations to be aware of when using this report. Use these details to better understand how the data behaves and how to interpret it correctly.
Caveats | Details and Impact |
Account credit balances are held at the client level — they have no location association | Unlike vouchers or gift cards, account credits in Boulevard are stored in a single balance per client across the entire business. There is no breakdown of which location holds the liability or where the credit was granted or redeemed. A client who received an account credit at Location A and spent it at Location B will show a single combined balance with no location attribution. This report cannot be filtered or grouped by location —To see grant and redemption location history per transaction, use the Account Credit Activity report. |
Account Credit Liabilities and Account Credit Receivables are separate fields | Account Credit Liabilities shows balances where the business owes value to the client (positive balance). Account Credit Receivables shows balances where the client owes value to the business (negative balance — for example, when a client used more credit than they had available). Account Credit Balance is the net of both. A business's total liability exposure is Account Credit Liabilities only — receivables represent money owed to the business, not outstanding credit. Do not use Account Credit Balance alone to assess total outstanding liability; use Account Credit Liabilities specifically. |
The As of Date filter defaults to today and controls which balances appear — always set it explicitly for reconciliation | The As of Date filter scopes the report to balances as they existed on a specific date. The default is today. Changing this date shows what balances looked like at that point in time. For accurate reconciliation against accounting records, always set As of Date explicitly to match the period-end date used in your general ledger. Do not leave the filter at today's default when reconciling to historical records. |
Clients with a $0 net balance do not appear in this report | Only clients who have a non-zero account credit balance as of the selected date are included. Clients who have been fully credited and fully redeemed — resulting in a $0 net balance — will not appear as rows. |
