Creating your Chest account takes just a few minutes. Here's what to expect.
Before you start
To open a Chest account, you must be:
Aged 18 or over
A UK resident
Step-by-step account creation
Download the app Open the Chest app after downloading it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Enter your mobile number We'll use this to secure your account and send you important updates. Make sure you have access to this phone to receive a verification code.
Verify your phone number Enter the 6-digit code we send via text message. This confirms you have access to the phone number you provided. If you don't receive the code, see our article on phone verification issues.
Enter your email address We'll use this for account communications and important documents.
Create your 4-digit PIN Choose a PIN you'll remember but others won't easily guess. Avoid obvious combinations like 1234, 0000, or your birth year. You'll use this PIN each time you log in.
Confirm your PIN Re-enter your PIN to make sure it's correct.
What happens next?
Once your account is created, you'll complete a short onboarding questionnaire to get your Chest Score. This asks about your current pension savings, salary, age, and retirement goals. Your Chest Score shows how on track you are for retirement and helps you see the impact of saving more.
After that, you can set up your Chest SIPP and start building your pension.
