If one our partner financial institutions denied your application or if you don't qualify, don’t worry—this doesn’t impact your access to Debbie! You can still use the app as usual. 💚

You can track your financial goals and manage your budgeting activities, ensuring that the app remains a resource for your financial growth.

Why was my application denied?

A common reason for checking/savings account application denials is related to something called a Chex Report, which banks use to review whether or not you’ve ever defaulted on a bank account. You can learn more about them on our blog and check your report here.

Can I use Debbie without linking a partner account?

Yes! You’ll still have full access to the app for features like tracking financial goals and budgeting. However, you won’t be able to redeem rewards for cash until you open an account with a partner bank.

Why do I need a partner account?

These financial institutions support your financial success by paying us when you make an account with them. We take those funds and reward you for completing financial goals.

Enhancing Future Eligibility

If you've been denied by a partner bank, consider these steps to improve eligibility:

  1. Understand the reasons for denial by reviewing eligibility criteria.

  2. Check your Chex report for issues and address any concerns found.

  3. Focus on demonstrating financial stability, such as maintaining a positive account balance.
