What are check-ins?
Check-ins are done in-app and are an opportunity for you to submit information each week, including your weight, body measurements and progress photos. For those using our Premium Plan (Aus only), you can also add in any notes about the week that was, along with any food preferences for your new meal plan. This helps your coach to understand your journey and provides personalised weekly support via our in-app chat messaging. It also means you can record your progress so that you can review it later.
What information do I need to provide at check-in?
During your check-in, you’re asked a series of questions in-app relating to your adherence to daily targets, where you're at in your menstrual cycle (if applicable), your daily water intake, and any new food preferences you may have. You're also prompted to provide updated body measurements, current weight, and progress photos.
If you're on the Premium Plan (Aus only), your coach will then reach out via the in-app chat function by end-of-day to review your weekly progress with you.
Check-ins are not compulsory but definitely encouraged as the information you provide us helps us to best assess your progress, make changes where necessary, and provide feedback. It also ensures that the strategy is implemented correctly.
Do I need to submit body measurements?
While not mandatory, submitting measurements is highly encouraged as they provide valuable insight into changes in body composition. Scales may not always reflect these changes due to various factors like sleep, hormones, water intake, and activity. Therefore, we strongly recommend using a measuring tape to track your progress weekly.
How do I take my measurements each week?
As you are measuring as close as you can to the same spot each week, this is what is most important. Choose a freckle or point on your body you can use as a guide each week to take your measurements. Don’t stress too much; close enough is good enough.
You can see the points to take below for your check-in too: -
When do I weigh and measure myself?
Make sure to take your body measurements and weight first thing in the morning before you’ve trained or consumed any food/drinks. Taking your results on an empty stomach will ensure accurate readings week to week.
When are check-ins?
You will have a check-in scheduled every week via the app. You are able to view this on your app homepage, where it will say 'XX days until your next check-in'.
Check-ins need to be submitted prior to 11 am on your allocated check-in day. If you happen to miss the 11 am deadline, you can submit a late check-in. More on this below.
You'll receive a push notification reminding you of your check-in via the equ app (just be sure to have push notifications enabled).
Can I change my check-in day?
When signing up, you will be asked which check-in day you would like. These range from Monday - Friday. This will then be your check-in day through the duration of your journey.
In special circumstances, your check-in day can be changed by reaching out to your coach in-app or via the 'Contact Us' section for those on the Standard Plan. However, please note that some days will already be fully allocated so we are unable to guarantee the change.
Please note, that whilst you receive your meal plan on your check-in day, it is not coupled to your meal plan, in that you can begin using your new week's meal plan on whatever day best suits you - i.e, if your check-in day is on a Thursday, you may want to start your new meal plan on Sunday or Monday, giving you time to do a grocery shop. You can update your meal plan start day in the settings of the app - this will be the day your new meal plan is added to your 'Today' tab.
Can I request a weekend check-in day?
Unfortunately, we do not have Saturday or Sunday check-in days available as we are open business hours Monday through Friday.
What time do I need to submit my check-in by?
Make sure to submit your check-in before 11 am.
What if I miss a check-in?
If you miss a check-in, you can submit the information at a later time.
The downside to checking in late is that you'll only be able to submit your progress photos, body measurements and weight - no food preferences or notes. Therefore, your meal plan will be created with only the taste preferences you entered upon sign-up in mind.
You are able to submit a late check-in on your home page up until the EOD on your check-in day, if you miss this, the process to submit a late check-in is as follows:
Go to the 'Journey' tab in your equ App
Scroll down and click on 'My Progress'
Select the relevant week you wish to edit
Click edit in the top right-hand corner
Follow the check-in prompts to submit
This process can also be helpful if you realise you need to correct a mistake submitting check-in information, as you can go back and correct it.
Please note, you can only submit late check-ins after week 1 of your equ journey.
