Do you cater to people with different dietary needs?

Is the equ program for everyone - regardless of health issues, life factors, age etc.?

Do you cater to particular health and medical conditions?

As a company, we facilitate body transformations (weight loss, weight management and muscle gain) and do not facilitate a service to accommodate health conditions.

Our meal recommendations are balanced with the inclusion of wholesome foods and constructed according to the Australian Dietary Guidelines.

Therefore, we're unable to cater to the management of conditions such as PCOS, Diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. However, if your goal is to lose weight, dropping fat is proven to help the outcomes of these conditions positively.

Ok, what about dietary requirements?

Yes, we do cater to people with special dietary requirements: dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, vegan, egg-free, sesame, fish and shellfish etc.

Just a note - we do not cater to low-FODMAP diets, fructose, fructans, polyols, oligosaccharides, anti-inflammatory, etc.

Do you cater for coeliac disease?

Yes, we do cater for coeliac disease. When you sign up, you can choose if you are gluten-free; afterwards, you will be prompted to choose if you need to exclude may-contain items. If you are coeliac, click ‘yes’.

If you find out that you are coeliac during your journey with us, you can go back to the settings of your app and update your dietary requirements.

Do you cater to pregnant women?

No, we don't specifically address pregnancy nutrition in our program. However, we’d love to hear from you after you’ve had your baby for your postpartum journey!

If you fall pregnant while on your equ journey, you must notify us as soon as possible.

What happens if I find out I am pregnant?

You must notify us straight away if you find out you are pregnant, as we do not cater for pregnancy nutrition. Please send a message to support@joinequ.com and the team will help to cancel your subscription and credit your remaining time.

Do you cater to breastfeeding women?

We sure do! You can jump on board when you feel comfortable, and have clearance from your doctor, postpartum. We'll consider your particular needs when calculating your daily targets and drawing up your meal plan. When completing the online quiz you will be asked about breastfeeding, your answers to this will determine how much we do increase your calories to support your breastfeeding.

In your check-in each week you are also asked about your current feeding schedule. If there are changes to your feeds during your journey, you will have the opportunity to indicate and update this at your check-in, and if/when feeding schedule is reduced based on the answers, so too will your calories. So, just make sure you're checking in each week and the strategy will be implemented in light of your feeding.

I've had gastric sleeve surgery, can equ still help me?

We have worked with gastric sleeve clients with mixed results. We understand people who have had gastric sleeve surgery already have different individual restrictions on food quantity and portions; this can affect our ability to create an optimal strategy while meeting your appropriate calorie and macronutrient goals. We love helping each person to achieve results, however, through our past experiences with gastric sleeve clients, we are unable to accurately predict how successful the results will be for you.

I'm older, will this program still work for me?

Yes - equ can cater to all ages.

Older people may have a lower metabolic rate, but if daily targets are worked out with this in mind, they can still make great progress. This is why age is a data point we use to calculate your caloric and macro-nutritional needs.

We've had many women who are going through menopause succeed on our program. So, age isn't a hindering factor.

What if I get sick during the program?

If you do get sick, it's best to prioritise your recovery. Good nutrition and hydration will help of course, but if you feel like you need to put the program on hold, we can do that for you. To hold, head to the settings of the app.
