How much do my calories increase when breastfeeding?

Your calories will be increased depending on how often you are feeding. This will be done through the quiz answers when you sign up, so make sure they’re correct.

Do you cater to breastfeeding women?

We sure do mummas, so you can jump on board immediately postpartum as we take this into account in calculating your needs in order not to hinder milk supply.

Where do I let you know that I breastfeed?

During the online quiz before singing up, you will be asked if you're breastfeeding and this takes into consideration your feeding schedule into your calories.

If you do wish to check or if you feel your calories are too low - please reach out to our support team and they can assist you.

Milk supply hindered

When breastfeeding, the body requires extra calories to fuel lactation; therefore, milk supply can suffer if you do not intake adequately. On Premium Plan (Aus only), let your coach know, or for the Standard Plan reach out to Customer care, and let them know that your milk supply is decreasing, and they will increase your calories to support your needs.

Weening/Decreased frequency of feeds

In your check-in each week you are asked about your current feeding schedule. As this feeding schedule is reduced based on the answers, so too will your calories. So, just make sure you're checking in each week and the strategy will be implemented in light of your feeding.
