Adding two-factor authentication (2FA) to your Instagram account helps keep it secure, even if someone else gets your password. Here's how to set it up or check your current settings:
1. Open your Instagram profile
Tap your profile icon in the app, then tap the menu icon (≡) in the top right corner.
2. Go to Settings
Select Settings and activity, then tap Accounts Centre.
3. Head to security settings
Under Account settings, choose Password and security.
4. Select Two-Factor Authentication
Tap Two-factor authentication under the “Login & recovery” section.
5. Choose your Instagram account
Select the account you’d like to manage.
6. Review or update your settings
You'll see if 2FA is already on. You can:
Check how you receive login codes (SMS, WhatsApp, etc.)
Add a backup method like an authentication app
Review trusted devices and authorized logins
You are all set up now!
