Journeys lingo may feel a little foreign at first because you probably don't think of everything being broken into Grades, Subjects and Subconcepts.

However, it's a useful way to organize things and navigate around complex systems like high school... to careers! Below, we break the map down so it's easier to understand:

There are 8 territories on the map.

Pre-K, K-8, HS are Territories that contain Grades, Subjects and Subconcepts.

When you zoom into the map things become MORE specific. 

From Territories you reach the Grade level.

Subjects-

The next level down are the Subjects (Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Language Arts).  We'll zoom into the Mathematics Subject.  

Sub-Concepts-
​The third and final level are the Sub-Concepts level. Statistics and Probability, Geometry, Functions, Numbers and Quantity and Algebra are all Sub-Concepts.
