This article shows you how to fix minor typos or add images/videos, without compromising the integrity of your reviews.
Why we limit review edits
At Judge.me, authenticity is everything. Reviews are valuable because they reflect genuine customer experiences. That’s why we do not encourage store owners to rewrite or heavily modify reviews. To protect the integrity of customer feedback, we:
Limit edits to 30 characters (including deletion of characters)
Require reviewer approval for any changes
Do not allow changing star ratings
You can make sensible changes like fixing a typo, clarifying a word, or adding a photo or video that the reviewer intended to include. These small updates help improve clarity, without altering the original sentiment.
What you can edit
Within the 30-character limit, you can:
Correct typos or grammatical errors
Clarify a word or phrase
Add a photo or video to enrich the review
Note: The 30-character limit includes additions and deletions. If your change exceeds the limit, you’ll receive an error and your edit won’t be saved.
How to edit a review
Follow these steps in your Judge.me Admin Dashboard:
Go to Manage Reviews > Reviews Dashboard.
Locate the review you want to edit.
Click the three-dot icon next to the review.
Select Edit review.
Make your changes (up to 30 characters).
Click Submit.
The reviewer will receive an email asking them to approve or reject the change. No updates will be applied until they approve them.
Ask customers to update their reviews
Star ratings can only be updated by reviewers. This ensures that your review data reflects authentic customer sentiment. You can, however:
Send a Review Update Request to ask the reviewer to change their rating or feedback.
Allow customers to update reviews via their Customer Account if you’ve added the appropriate Judge.me widget.
