Why Your Upload Was Rejected Due to Image Quality (And How to Fix It)

Most upload rejections happen because the image isn’t clear enough, not because you did anything wrong. A few small adjustments can make all the difference.

Why Image Quality Really Matters

When you upload a document, it’s checked by secure verification systems designed to protect your account and prevent fraud. These systems need to clearly see every detail on your document—names, numbers, photos, and security features.

If anything looks unclear or altered, the upload may be rejected automatically.

Common Image Quality Issues (And Why They Cause Rejection)

1. Blurry or Low-Resolution Images

If the text or photo looks slightly blurry to you, it will likely look unreadable to the system.

What usually causes this:

  • Camera shake

  • Low lighting

  • Taking the photo too close or too far away

How to fix it:

  • Hold your phone steady

  • Use good lighting (natural light works best)

  • Make sure the camera is in focus before snapping the photo

2. Cropped Images

Cropping out edges—even accidentally- can remove important details.

Common examples:

  • Missing corners of an ID

  • Cut-off names or document numbers

  • Only part of the document is visible

How to fix it:

  • Capture the entire document

  • Make sure all four corners are visible

  • Don’t crop the image after taking it

3. Glare from Camera Flash

Flash can create bright white spots that hide text or photos.

Why this is a problem:

  • Glare can block names, dates, or ID numbers

  • It makes the document look altered or unreadable

How to fix it:

  • Turn off your flash

  • Take the photo in a well-lit room or near a window

  • Slightly adjust the angle to avoid reflections

4. Shadows Covering the Document

Shadows can hide important parts of the document—even if everything else looks fine.

What causes shadows:

  • Poor lighting

  • Holding the phone too close

  • Light coming from only one direction

How to fix it:

  • Use even lighting from both sides

  • Lay the document flat on a surface

  • Avoid standing between the light source and the document

5. Screenshots or Edited Images

Screenshots, filters, or edited images are almost always rejected.

Why:

  • Screenshots remove original image data

  • Edited files look tampered with

  • Filters can distort text and colours

How to fix it:

  • Upload a fresh photo or scan

  • Don’t edit, filter, or enhance the image

  • Upload the original file directly

A Quick Checklist Before You Upload

Before hitting “Submit,” ask yourself:

  • Can I clearly read every word?

  • Are all edges and corners visible?

  • Is there no glare, shadow, or blur?

  • Is this an original photo, not a screenshot?

  • Does the document match my Juicyway details?

If the answer is “yes” to all five, you’re good to go.

One Last Tip (This Helps a Lot)

Take your time. Most rejections happen when uploads are rushed. Spending an extra 30 seconds to get a clean image can save you hours of delay later.

If your upload was rejected once, don’t worry, it’s usually easy to fix with a clearer photo.
