Introduction
Exit-intent popups are a highly effective strategy to reduce cart abandonment. With just a few clicks, you can set up your exit-intent popups and engage your customers at the perfect moment—just before they leave. This ensures you secure transactions and increase your conversion rate. Let’s begin:

In This Article:

  • How to create an exit-intent popup offering a last-chance discount to your users

  • How to create an exit-intent popup with the goal of lead generation (email input field)

How to Create an Exit-Intent Popup Offering a Last-Chance Discount

  1. Open the App: Launch the JumboBros app and click "Create an Exit-Intent Popup."

  2. Choose a Template: Select a starting template. Note: You can fully customize it later. Templates are categorized as:

    • Popups offering last-chance discounts

    • Popups with email input fields to generate leads and offer discounts

Each category has five layout options. Pick your preferred design and click "Select & Customize."

  3. Customize Your Popup: You’re now in the popup builder. The left side shows navigation and settings, while the right side provides a real-time preview of your popup as it will appear on your Shopify store.

    • Details Section: Start by naming your popup for easy identification in your dashboard (especially helpful if you create multiple popups). Once named, click "Next."

  4. Set Targeting Options:

    • Devices: Choose where the popup will appear – Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet.

    • Visibility on Products: Decide whether the popup should show on specific products, all products, or products within a particular collection.

    • Pages: Select which pages to display the popup – Home Page, Product Page, Collection Page, or Cart Page.

Once targeting is set, click "Next."

  5. Behavior Settings:

    • Set when to trigger the popup:

      • Immediately after the page loads

      • After a delay

      • When the user is about to leave (exit intent)

      • When the user scrolls halfway down the page

    • Use the Cart Value option to display the popup only if the customer’s cart value falls within a specified range.

Click "Next" once these options are configured.

  6. Set discount: select the discount offer in percentage, in Euros or fixed prp

  7. Layout Customization: Adjust popup spacing, corner roundness, and background color. If needed, you can switch to a different layout at this stage. Click "Next."

  8. Appearance Settings: This section is where the design magic happens:

    • Modify colors, sizes, and roundness

    • Add images or a countdown timer

    • Change the CTA button text

    • Add or remove an email input field

    When satisfied, click "Save."

  9. Activate Your Popup: After saving, return to your dashboard. The popup won’t be live until activated. Follow these steps:

    • Click "Activate" in the dashboard.

    • On the next page, turn on the app embed toggle to enable the popup.

    • Save your changes and return to the JumboBros dashboard.

  10. Test Your Popup: Toggle the popup to "On" in the dashboard and visit your store to test it. Click "Claim My Discount" to verify that the discount applies during checkout.

How to Create an Exit-Intent Popup for Lead Generation

Follow steps 1-7 as outlined above. When you reach the Appearance Settings step, make the following adjustments:

  • Add an email input field to collect leads.

  • Customize the offer text to incentivize sign-ups (e.g., "Get 10% off when you join our email list!").

  • Ensure the design aligns with your brand and encourages engagement.

Save, activate, and test as described in steps 8-9. Looks good, doesn't it?

Bonus: A/B Testing Your Popups JumboBros offers A/B testing to help you optimize your popups. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. In the dashboard, click "Run A/B Test."

  2. Create two versions of your popup ("A" and "B") with different designs, messages, or triggers.

  3. Save your changes and toggle the A/B test to "On."

  4. Monitor performance in the dashboard. Note: While the test is live, edits cannot be made to maintain data integrity.

  5. Once you have enough data, click "End A/B Test" and select the winning version. The winner will become your active popup.
