Introduction πŸ‘‹

In today's fast-developing market, Legal teams dream of having a fast, knowledgeable Legal Assistant to support their contract review processes.

Meet Juro's Legal Agent: a dynamic AI Agent that can review your documents against a playbook and generate redlines. This eliminates the need to manually review each clause, allowing Legal teams to action contracts quicker and at scale.

Accessing the Legal Agent πŸšͺ

To access the Legal Agent, click the AI contract review button on your homepage sidebar:

To begin the setup, you'll need to upload or draft a playbook that contains your positioning by document type.

Your playbook(s) should include context, your default positions and limits. This will provide the Agent with the information it needs to review and produce a redlined document against your company's guardrails.

Uploading your playbook ⬆️

πŸ’‘ NOTE: Only Org Admins can upload playbooks.

To upload a playbook:

1. Open the AI contract review section from the main sidebar.

2. Click Playbook hub on the top right of the screen.

3. Click Add new playbook type. On the next page, click Select from my computer and choose a .docx file.

You can also drop documents from your desktop into the upload portal if you prefer.

4. Enter your playbook's name in the PLAYBOOK TYPE field and click Upload.

After a few minutes, your playbook will load into Juro, where it'll be available for you to review your documents against. You can update the playbook any time by clicking Upload new version.

If you don’t have a playbook, Juro offers example NDA and Saas Subscription Agreement playbooks which you can adapt to your company's requirements, or replace entirely with your own.

Reviewing your contract πŸ‘€

To start your contract review process in Juro:

1. Open the Legal Agent and click Review document. The Agent will then request your document.

2. Click Select from your computer and upload your contract (.docx documents or PDF files are supported).

Within a few minutes, the Agent will review the uploaded contract against your playbook and return redlined results for your consideration.

πŸ’‘ NOTE: Users can also initiate the review process directly from Slack.

Understanding the Agent's results πŸ’

Once the review is complete, the Agent will generate one of two responses:

If the contract terms comply with your playbook, you'll receive:

  • A verified copy of your contract.

  • A message confirming compliance.

If changes are needed, you'll receive:

  • a redlined version of the contract showing suggested deletions and additions.

  • Explanations for each suggested change.

Working post-review πŸ”…

After reviewing this redlined version, you can:

  • Download the reviewed document.

  • Give feedback to the Agent (thumbs up/down).

  • Start another review.

  • Request new features.

A few notes on this early iteration of our Legal Agent feature:

  • Only .docx and PDF documents are accepted for now

  • Each review request starts a new chat.

  • Your chats are saved for future reference.

  • Workspace Admins can see reviews for the whole workspace.

  • Workspace Users see only their reviews.
