Introduction πŸ‘‹

Because it's so easy to do and takes just a few clicks, 97% of our customers' counterparties sign contracts using Juro. But what about the other 3% that prefer to use a different platform, like DocuSign?

Not a problem - our new DocuSign integration is designed to unblock these counterparties by having them receive and sign a document in a way they're used to, allowing for less friction and greater flexibility at one of the most important points in the document's lifecycle: the signing stage.

Connecting the integration πŸ–‡οΈ

πŸ’‘ NOTE: You'll need to be a Juro Org Admin with a Docusign license to enable this integration. To start, please reach out to the Juro Support Team so that we can enable the integration for your Juro environment from our side.

This is an organisation-wide integration and will be activated for all teams once enabled. We recommend creating a separate account rather than linking it to an individual user's account.

Once the enablement is complete and you're ready to connect your Juro and DocuSign platforms:

1. In Juro, go to Settings and click Integrations.

2. Click the DocuSign panel.

3. Click Connect: this will prompt you to enter your DocuSign login credentials

You will need to connect the integration using a Business Pro DocuSign account or above. The account should also be an organisation level account rather than a personal one. (e.g. docusign-admin@juro.com rather than henry@juro.com) This means you will only need one DocuSign account for your organisation.

Once you come back to this page after you've logged into DocuSign, Juro will ask for permission to link with your DocuSign account, which you'll need to grant.

4. Go to the relevant template in your Templates section (πŸ’‘ NOTE: Steps 5-9 will need to be actioned on each template individually)

5. Once in the template, Click the Document members icon: this will open the SIGNATORIES sidebar.

6. Toggle on the Enable signing in external platforms option.

7. From the SIGNING SIDES SIGN IN dropdown menu, select one of the following options:

DocuSign: all contracts created from this contract be converted to PDF and sent for signing through DocuSign

Decide when signing: selecting this option at the template level will give the contract creator the option to choose the signing pathway before they send the contract for signing.

8. From the SIGNATURE METHOD dropdown menu, select one of the following options:

Electronic signature: selecting this option at the template level will preselect standard DocuSign signing for all contracts created using this template.

QES signature: selecting this option at the template level will send all documents for signing via a DocuSign qualified e-signature provider.

Decide when signing: selecting this option at the template level will give the contract creator the option to choose the signature method before they send the contract for signing.

9. From the QES Provider dropdown menu, select your preferred QES provider or allow contract creators to decide when sending for signing:

Now it's time to send a contract for signing through DocuSign or via DocuSign QES!

Managing the contract lifecycle using the DocuSign integration πŸ“‘

Users can seamlessly send documents for signing via DocuSign or a DocuSign QES provider. Once all signatories have added their signature to the document the status will update in Juro to reflect that and the fully signed PDF will automatically be uploaded against the contract object in Juro.

Signatories will receive a PDF copy of the document via their email inbox once the document is fully signed.

πŸ’‘ NOTE: This iteration of the integration doesn't recognise Juro signing orders. For contracts with signing orders enabled, the signing request will be sent to all parties simultaneously.

Sending a contract for signing πŸ›«

Does sending a contract for signing through Docusign look very different from sending it through Juro? In short, not really, but there are a few things to bear in mind:

Customers will receive an email notification as normal asking them to review the contract and add their signature. But instead of seeing the document in the Juro UI as usual, signatories will be directed to a PDF version of the contract in DocuSign. The exact flow broken down further is:

1. Juro will push a PDF version of the contract to DocuSign when you send your normal signing request. (Please Note: Both sides must use the same e-signature method.)

2. The signatories will receive an email from DocuSign asking them to access and sign the contract.

3. Once the document is fully executed, both the signatories and the document owner will receive a PDF copy via email, the document status will update, and the fully signed PDF will upload against the original document in Juro.

Below is a summary of things to bear in mind:

  • Signing orders are not supported in this phase of the integration. If a signing order is turned on, only the first signatory in the order will receive the contract.

  • External forms will not show before signing for documents signed through the DocuSign integration (please see below for additional guidance on this).

Sending Forms to counterparties❓

When a contract is sent for signing through DocuSign, the counterparty will not be directed through the Forms flow as they would be with Juro's signing flow.

With that in mind, it's best to ask the counterparty to complete any forms prior to the contract being sent for signature. To do this using the REVIEWERS link in your template or contract:

1. Click the Document members icon: this will open the SIGNATORIES sidebar.

2. Click the REVIEWERS heading, then Can View +. From the dropdown menu, check the Form as X checkbox. When the counterparty accesses the contract through the REVIEWERS link, they will be led through your regular Forms flow.

3. Under the SEND VIA EMAIL heading, click + Add Reviewer, type in the email of the counterparty and press Enter to save it.

4. Press Send.
