Overview

Value nominations allow you to send monthly surveys to your entire organization (or a single team) to help you understand who is living your values on a monthly cadence. You may be asking, but how do kudos fit in? Great question! 

Kudos and Value nominations are different in a few ways:

  • Kudos are daily while Value nominations are monthly

  • Kudos have unlimited receivers while Value nominations limit you to 1 receiver per value

  • Kudos require an intentional action while Value nominations will nudge people to vote

Kudos give you a daily practice of reinforcing your values, Value nominations give you a monthly practice of doing the same. Our customers have found this as the right mix for being a values-driven organization. 

Setup

Setup is simple and quick!

Here are the steps:

  1. Jump into your settings page (for Slack) or your settings tab (for Microsoft Teams).

  2. Scroll past "Company values" to the "Value nominations" section.

  3. Click on the enable switch to turn the feature on.

  4. In the setup dialog, choose a channel (for Slack) or team (for Microsoft Teams) to select the audience. Members of the audience you select will receive a prompt to vote from Disco in their DM.

  5. Click on "Enable" to turn Value nominations on!

Bonus: You can change the name of the feature to something that fits your culture. For example, you can change it from "Value nominations" to "Awesome awards" or "Superduper funimations". It's up to you!

Scheduling

We've designed nominations to be habit-forming, which is why we send them out on a monthly cadence.

When do nominations start?

Nominations are sent out at 9am (local time) 7 days before the end of each month. If that day happens to fall on the weekend, Disco will wait until Monday.

When do nominations end?

Voting ends at 9am on the 1st day of the next month. If that day happens to fall on the weekend, Disco will wait until Monday.

Voting

As an admin, you can sit back and let the results pour in. Members of the audience you select will receive a DM message from Disco when nominations begin.

If you don't want to wait until the end of the month, you can send nominations early by tapping "Send now":

Viewing results

We've added a new dashboard to give you direct access to all of the data associated with nominations. On the new dashboard, you can export all of your data to dig into the results and use them to empower your rewards process or company ceremonies. The world is your oyster!
