You can connect your Garmin Connect app to Kaido to automatically share your steps and activity data as part of the Challenge.

However, you cannot connect Garmin to Kaido directly, here is why:

Kaido uses the smartphones own health tracking application, in this case Apple Health for iOS as a 'central aggregator' of data. Thus you should connect your favourite health tracking apps, such as Garmin Connect to your Apple Health app on your iPhone, before then connecting your Apple Health app to Kaido.

The reason for this is that it ensures Kaido receives a single, clean feed of data from your device(s) and thus prevents instances where we receive duplicate data from one or more devices sharing information. It also enhances the simplicity of our product as it means we do not have to have lots of third party integrations to manage, all of whom share data in a slightly different way.

To connect your Garmin to Kaido:

Step 1: Connect your Garmin Connect to Apple Health

Firstly connect your Garmin to your Apple Health application on your iOS device. To do this:

  1. Open the Health app on your iPhone

  2. Select Summary at the bottom of the screen

  3. Select your profile picture in the upper right corner

  4. Select Apps under Privacy

  5. Select Garmin Connect

  6. Toggle to Enable/Disable the desired data to write to Apple Health

More information on sharing data from your Garmin Connect to Apple Health can be found here.

Step 2: Connect your Apple Health to Kaido

Once your steps/ physical activity data is being shared from your Garmin to your Apple Health app, you should then connect your Apple Health app to Kaido. To do this:

  1. From the Kaido app home screen, click 'Connect your activity tracker'

  2. Select Apple Health from the available options (please note you must be using the Kaido app for iOS to do this, you will not see the Apple Health option if you are accessing Kaido from the website)

  3. Select which information you wish to share with Kaido

  4. Finish. Your Apple Health device is connected. You can disconnect your tracker at any time.

Success! You have now created a secure, one-time connection for the purpose of sharing data as part of the Challenge.

Please ensure that you agree to share all relevant steps/ activity data as part of the permissions as otherwise we risk not receiving your information.

For help and support with device integrations, please contact the Kaido team using the Intercom messenger in the app or by emailing support@kaido.org.
