Advertising Tags give you powerful flexibility to categorize, organize, and analyze your campaigns, ad groups, and products across the platform.

Today, Advertising Tags can be established at three critical levels of your advertising structure:

  • Campaign Level

  • Ad Group Level

  • Product Level

Where to Create Tags

Tags can be created and applied in multiple ways depending on your workflow:

Advertising Settings

  • Navigate to the Advertising Settings section.

  • Then to Manage tags to create new tags or update existing ones.

  • Tags created here are available across all applicable levels (shared below).

Grid-Level Tag Assignment

You can assign tags directly from the grid views in the Campaigns, Ad Groups, or Products tabs:

  • Select one or more rows.

  • Use the mass action toolbar to apply tags in bulk.

  • Tags can also be added inline per row for quick tagging.

Filter by Tags

Now this is where tags get put to use. The above-grid advertising tag filter allows you to:

  • Select one or more tags from a dropdown.

  • Instantly filter your data across those selected tags.

  • Analyze only the items tied to specific initiatives or classifications.

This is especially helpful for teams managing multiple clients, product lines, seasonal pushes, or creative strategies. Also, by rolling up data by tags, you can more easily assign or update strategies across the tags.

Best Practices

  • Establish Tagging Conventions: Before widespread use, align on tag formats (e.g., Campaign Themes, Holiday2025, TopPerformers, BrandA, etc.).

  • Use Tags for Reporting Filters: Combine tag filters with performance metrics to build highly tailored reports.

  • Regularly Audit Tags: Clean up unused or redundant tags to maintain clarity.
