The Kapoq Content Audit evaluates all active ASIN product detail pages (PDPs) listed in Amazon’s All Listings Report. This audit helps identify missing or incomplete content across your catalog — but there are a few important details and Amazon API limitations to be aware of.
📄 How the Content Audit Works
Kapoq reviews all ASINs that meet the following criteria:
Active and appearing in Amazon’s current All Listings Report
Generating revenue
In stock and meeting Amazon’s completeness criteria
If certain products don’t appear in your audit, it’s likely because they don’t meet one or more of these conditions.
You can download the All Listings Report in Seller Central by navigating to:
Reports > Inventory > All Listings Report
⚡ Why Some Items Don’t Show Up
For performance and reliability, Kapoq only displays items that:
Have Content Protection enabled
Are active in Amazon’s listings
Meet Amazon’s completeness requirements
Inactive or incomplete listings are filtered out to prevent slow load times or timeouts — ensuring a faster, smoother experience.
🚫 API Limitations and A+ Content
We’ve identified a known limitation in Amazon’s APIs:
Amazon’s Catalog API does not always capture A+ content or product descriptions consistently.
Specifically:
The API only recognizes A+ content created by the same seller account being audited.
A+ content categorized as “From the Brand” may not be recognized by the API at all.
Although this issue has been reported to Amazon, no fix has been implemented or scheduled.
Recommendation:
If A+ data discrepancies affect your audit results, you can disable the A+ audit check in your Content Audit Settings. This will exclude A+ content from the audit and K-Score calculations.
🔍 API vs. PDP Content Differences
Kapoq sources all data directly from Amazon’s Catalog API, not from the public product detail page (PDP).
In most cases, the information aligns with what you see on Amazon’s live PDP. However, differences can occur when:
Amazon hasn’t yet updated the API to reflect recent PDP changes, or
The API data reflects backend listing content that hasn’t yet propagated to the front end.
🏢 Vendor-Specific Notes
For Vendors, there is an ongoing issue where images retrieved via the API may not match those displayed on the live PDP.
This discrepancy is an open case with Amazon and remains unresolved for now.
We recommend keeping an eye on image accuracy when reviewing vendor audits.
✅ Summary
Area | Known Limitation | Recommendation |
A+ Content | API doesn’t always recognize A+ modules or “From the Brand” content | Disable A+ check in settings if results seem inaccurate |
Product Images (Vendors) | API images may differ from live PDP | Verify manually until Amazon resolves the issue |
Listing Status | Only active listings included | Ensure products meet Amazon’s active/completeness criteria |
