Setup Instructions
Step 1: Open Notion Agents
In the Notion sidebar, navigate to Agents and click + New agent.
Step 2: Create a New Agent
Choose any agent template that fits your use case, or select Create blank in the top-right corner to start from scratch. Any template will work with the Kapoq MCP connection.
Step 3: Add the Kapoq MCP Connection
Scroll down to the Tools and access section of your agent’s settings and click + Add connection.
Step 4: Enter the MCP Server URL
In the Add connection panel, click + Add custom MCP at the bottom of the list. Then enter the following details:
• MCP server URL: https://mcp.kapoq.com/mcp
• Name: Any name you like (e.g., “Kapoq”)
• Authentication: Leave as OAuth (default)
Click Connect when ready.
Tip: Remember the name you give this connection. You’ll reference it by name when prompting the agent (e.g., “Using the Kapoq connector, show me…”).
Step 5: Authenticate with Kapoq
A browser window will open to the Kapoq OAuth sign-in page. Sign in using your company’s Google or Microsoft email account — the same credentials you use for Kapoq Datalink.
Step 6: Set Tools to Run Automatically
After the connection is established, you’ll see the Kapoq connection listed under your agent’s tools. Change the tool permission from Always ask to Run automatically.
Why Run automatically? Notion agents can run on a scheduled trigger (e.g., every weekday morning) without a user present. If tools are set to Always ask, the agent will stall waiting for approval. Setting them to Run automatically ensures unattended execution.
Step 7: Save the Agent
Click the Save button in the top-right corner of the agent’s settings page to persist your changes.
Step 8: Test the Connection
Run the agent or open a new chat with it and ask a question that references the Kapoq connection by name. For example:
“What are the top 5 performing campaigns over the last 30 days as given by the Kapoq MCP connector?”
Troubleshooting
The agent doesn’t return any data
Make sure you reference the MCP connection by the exact name you gave it in Step 4 when writing your prompt. Notion agents need to know which connection to use.
OAuth sign-in fails or loops
Verify you’re signing in with the same Google or Microsoft email associated with your Kapoq Datalink account. If your organization uses multiple domains, check with your Kapoq administrator.
The agent stalls on “Waiting for approval”
This means the Kapoq tools are still set to Always ask. Go back into the agent’s settings and change the permission to Run automatically (Step 6).
I don’t see the Agents option in Notion
Notion Agents is currently in Beta and may not be available on all plans. Check with your Notion workspace administrator to ensure the feature is enabled.
