The role of Content Protection is to monitor content changes that occur on the product detail page of a listing and alert you of the changes as they take place. These changes may be changes you and your team have submitted, changes another 3rd party seller has submitted, or changes Amazon has applied on their own. By 'protecting' the content, you can have a pulse on these changes and track what changes occur.

This guide will walk through the following:

Content Data Source

The Catalog API and A+ Content APIs are the data sources used in our Content Audit and Content Protection features. We use these data sources as they’re the most accurate and reliable sources available via API. Note: This data is backend data that does not match any other report, such as the Category Listing Report.

The frequency in which Kapoq syns with the Catalog API is once daily.

How to Enable/Disable Content Protection

By default, Kapoq will automatically enable Content Protection for all active listings.

If you need to disable Content Protection for any listings, there are two methods:

  1. Through the Action Menu

  2. In Bulk through the Bulk Upload option

Method 1 - Through the Action Menu

You can use the checkboxes on the far left side of the Content Protection or Flagged Protection grid to select multiple SKUs at once. This will populate the action drop-down menu at the top, which has an option to 'Disable Protection'.

Method 2 - Via Bulk Upload

The best method to leverage when disabling Content Protection across a large number of SKUs is to use the bulk upload template.

From the Content Protection grid, select the 'Bulk Upload' button in the right corner, then choose the 'Enable/Disable' option.

Thereafter, make adjustments within the file. You can disable/enable by item or by content type (e.g., disabling an image check or an A+ check). Note: The By Item tab will be processed first and the By Content Type tab will be processed second. This means that if there are any conflicts between the two tabs, the By Content Type tab will be the deciding factor.

Please ensure that you are not changing the layout of the template in any way, such as removing the top row, adding or removing columns, renaming columns, adding tabs, etc. Only update the cells that are indicated as editable.

Then, go back to the to the Content Protection grid, select the 'Bulk Upload' button, and then choose 'Enable/Disable' and 'Upload Completed Template'. You will receive a message indicating if the upload was a success or if there are errors that need to be addressed.

Monitoring Content Changes

There are a few ways in which Kapoq allows you to view content changes.

  1. Via the Flagged Protection Alert

  2. Content Protection

First, the Flagged Protection Alert will appear on the main dashboard and within the Content Module anytime content changes.

Within you'll see the list of Products that have had content changes since we last checked. See example below:

You can review this alert and dive deeper into each change. To remove these items from the alert, use the actions button or actions dropdown to snooze or ignore the alert.

Now to review the Content Protection Tab

Navigate to the Content Module, then to the Content Protection tab. The following table will contain all products Content Protection is enabled for.

Within the table, Kapoq displays a checkbox or red exclamation point indicating what elements on the product detail page have changed since our last check. In the table, the 'Last Checked' date is showcased.

To view the changes that have occurred, select the Zoom (+) next to the product name in the first column. Below is an example product with no changes.

If content did change within the past day, Kapoq will alert you of those changes and they will appear in the view above.

In addition, the 'Baseline' will showcase what was previously stamped and the 'Current' section will showcase what is active since the system last checked.

To evaluate all changes at once, download the Excel Export file in the top right hand side of the table. This export will showcase a few tabs and the last tab in the spreadsheet displays all the text based changes to review.

Actions/Operations in Content Protection

  1. Acknowledge Change

    1. This action lets the system know that you acknowledge the "Current" content, which then updates your Baseline. Going forward, we'll track any new changes against this updated Baseline.

    2. You can acknowledge changes individually by zooming into a product via the magnifying glass, or in mass via the action menu.

  2. Revert Change

    1. If you notice unauthorized changes between current content and your Baseline for titles, bullets, or descriptions, use the 'Revert Change' button to send your baseline content to Amazon in a single click.

  3. Upload Source of Truth

    1. Upload Baseline content for titles, bullets, descriptions, and parent ASINs as your Source of Truth. Learn how to do so here.

That covers all information related to Content Protection. If you have any questions, please reach out to our team for support!
