How to Get a Refund for an Apple Pay Purchase

If you need a refund for an Apple Pay purchase, follow these simple steps:

In-Store Refunds

  1. Provide Card Details
    If the cashier requests your card details, select the card used on your Apple device.

    • On iPhone: Hold your device near the reader and authorize.

    • On Apple Watch: Double-click the side button and hold it near the reader.

  2. Use the Device Primary Account Number (DPAN)
    The merchant can process your return using your DPAN.

  3. Find Your DPAN

    • On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay and tap your card.

    • On Apple Watch: Open the Apple Watch app > Wallet & Apple Pay > tap your card.

Online Purchases Refunds

  1. Contact the Merchant
    Reach out to the store or website where you made the purchase and request a refund.

  2. Refund Process
    The merchant will process your refund through Apple Pay, and the amount will be credited back to your account or the card used for the purchase.

  3. Refund Timing
    Refunds typically take a few business days, depending on the merchant and payment method.
