Virtual Accounts allow you to receive funds via standard bank transfers in multiple currencies. Instead of relying only on crypto or alternative payment methods, you can move money directly through traditional banking systems and manage everything inside your Karta balance.
What is a Virtual Account?
A Virtual Account is a set of your unique bank details linked to your Karta account. It works like a regular bank account for receiving funds, while your balance remains fully usable inside Karta.
Who would need Virtual Accounts
Virtual Accounts are designed for Karta users who want a simple and flexible way to manage money through bank transfers.
They are suitable for:
Getting your salary directly to your Karta account;
Receiving money from your own bank accounts, or family members;
Receiving payments from clients and platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, YouTube, TikTok, and similar services;
Using received funds instantly with your Karta Visa Virtual Card online or in stores.
Why it’s useful
Virtual Accounts make it easy to move between traditional banking and digital spending.
You can receive money via bank transfer and immediately use it in your Karta account — no extra conversion steps, no additional tools, and no waiting to move funds between systems.
How to Open a Virtual Account
To open a Virtual Account, go to the Top Up section. You’ll see the available virtual account options — choose the one that works for you and complete a short additional verification.
As part of the verification, you’ll normally need to provide a valid Proof of Address matching the residential address you entered during registration. Accepted documents may include:
utility bills;
bank statements;
government or tax documents;
tenancy or rental agreements.
The document should clearly show your full name and residential address and, in most cases, must have been issued within the last 3 months.
Depending on your individual case, additional information or documents may also be requested during the review.
Opening a Virtual Account usually takes up to 5 minutes. In rare cases, additional checks may be required, and the review can take up to 10 business days.
