Overview

To comply with U.S. financial regulations (KYC/AML) and to protect your account from fraud, Kashu requires all users to complete identity verification. One of our trusted partners for this process is CLEAR. CLEAR specializes in biometric identity verification and ensures that only you can access your Kashu account.

You must complete this step before you can fully use Kashu services, including converting credit into cash, transferring funds, or connecting payment methods.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Start Verification

    • Log in to your Kashu account

    • Navigate to "Verify Account" and click on "Verify with CLEAR"

  2. Enter Phone Number

    • Provide your mobile phone number

    • Enter the one-time passcode over-the-phone (OTP).

  3. Continue on Your Phone

    • Open your phone's camera and scan the QR code displayed.

    • If you cannot scan, choose "Send Link" to get a secure text message instead.

  4. Upload Required Documents

    • A clear photo of a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, state ID, or U.S. passport)

    • Your SSN is required to comply with federal KYC regulations.

      • Note: Kashu does not accept ITINs at this time.

  5. Complete Biometric Verification

    • CLEAR will ask you to complete a live selfie or biometric verification to confirm you are the account holder.

      • This step ensures that your identity matches your submitted documents.

  6. Confirmation

    • Most verifications are completed within minutes.

    • In some cases, CLEAR may request additional documentation.

    • You’ll receive a notification once verification is approved.


Policies & Restrictions

Allowed

  • U.S. residents with a valid SSN.

  • Use of a government-issued ID that matches your legal name.

  • Completing biometric verification directly through CLEAR.

  • Age requirement of 18+

Prohibited

  • Using someone else’s documents or personal information.

  • Submitting expired or altered identification.

  • Attempting to bypass biometric verification.


Issuer Cautions

  • Until verification is completed, you will not be able to use core features including credit conversion, transfers, or withdrawals.

  • Respond promptly if CLEAR requests additional documentation.

  • Verification data is retained only as required by law and compliance obligations.


Compliance Statement

Identity verification with CLEAR is mandatory under federal Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. Kashu reserves the right to suspend or restrict accounts that fail verification, provide false information, or otherwise attempt to misuse the platform.
