If your hydraulic pump is feeling sluggish or not holding height properly, it might be time for a replacement. Follow this easy step-by-step guide to swap out your pump and keep your chair running smoothly.

What You’ll Need:

✔ A rubber mallet (optional)

✔ New hydraulic pump

✔ Allen wrench (for bolts)

Step 1: Remove the Chair Top

With two people, carefully wiggle the chair top off the hydraulic base.

If needed, use a rubber mallet to gently separate the top from the pump shaft pin.

Step 2: Remove the Old Pump

Turn the base upside down to access the bolts and remove them.

Lift out the old hydraulic pump—it should come out easily.

Step 3: Install the New Pump

Insert the new hydraulic pump and secure it using the new bolts (if provided).

Reattach the chair top, aligning the pin in the pump shaft with the slot in the seat plate.

💡 Tip: The pin does not need to go all the way in—just partially.

Step 4: “Exercise” the Pump (Important!)

Before using the chair, it’s crucial to remove any trapped air from the pump:

✔ Pump the chair all the way up and down at least three times.

✔ Do this with as much weight as possible in the chair.

✔ Leave the chair in the lowest position overnight to help remove excess air.

📢 Why is this important? Air trapped in the pump can affect performance. Regularly exercising the pump ensures smooth operation and longer lifespan.

Final Step: Lock the Pump for Stability

✔ Once your chair is at the right height, pull up on the bail to lock the pump in place.

🎉 That’s it! Your chair is ready to use!
