Corporate Actions and Dividends

How do I see corporate actions?

Things like stock splits or mergers (known as corporate actions) follow the US market timeline. You can see this through the 'Activity' tab.

Don't worry about time zones for important deadlines related to these actions – we'll always communicate them to you clearly in NZ time.

What Happens When You Receive Dividends?

Here's how it works:

  • Straight to Your Wallet: The cash dividend automatically lands directly into your Kernel wallet.

  • View history: Click into your 'Activity' tab then click 'Shares and ETFs' to view information on dividend payments to your account.

  • US Tax Handled: The US requires a 15% tax on these dividends (this lower rate is thanks to the W-8BEN form you completed).

  • Quick Processing: You'll typically see the dividend payment in your wallet within 2-3 business days after the official payment date from the company.

  • Easy Tax Time: We keep track of all your dividends for you, and they'll be clearly listed on the annual tax statement we provide.
