A stock in my Auto-Invest plan was deactivated. What do I do?

Written by Alison Perkins

If a stock in your US Shares & ETFs Auto-Invest plan is no longer available for investing, we turn your plan off automatically. Here's why it happens and how to get it running again.

Why did this happen?

One of the stocks in your Auto-Invest plan has been deactivated in our system. This means it's no longer available to invest in.

To stop any orders failing on that stock, we automatically turn your plan off.

How will I know?

As soon as this happens, we send you an email. It names the stock and lets you know your Auto-Invest plan for US Shares & ETFs is off until it's fixed.

How do I fix my Auto-Invest for US Shares & ETFs?

Your US Shares & ETFs Auto-Invest plan won't restart on its own. You'll need to update it and turn it back on.

  1. Log in to your Kernel dashboard.

  2. Click the Manage button in Recurring orders. You'll see your Auto-Invest for Shares and ETFs is off.

  3. Click Manage.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Update your allocation to add a new stock by clicking the plus icon against your chosen stock, or adjust your remaining ones, and Continue.

  6. Then Confirm your plan.

Do I have to sell the deactivated shares or ETFs?

You won't be able to buy any more of the deactivated shares or ETFs. You can sell if you would like, or continue to hold.
