How do I make my first investment?

Once your Kernel account is set up and verified, you are ready to invest. Here are the steps to make your first investment:

Step 1: Log in to your Kernel account.

Please note: Deposits take 1-2 business days to process and show up in your Kernel wallet. Check back after placing the initial deposit to ensure the funds have arrived before allocating them to an investment.

Step 3: Within the Kernel platform, navigate to the 'Invest' tab within the menu bar, then select 'Browse Funds'.

Step 4: Here you will be presented with our full fund range. You can scroll through the funds to find which you would like to invest in, or search by filtering by theme, sector, asset type and more.

Once you have found the fund you would like to invest in, click on the specific fund card.

Step 5: It will then open up a summary of the fund within a drawer. To proceed to buying units in the fund, click the 'Buy' button within the fund drawer.

Step 6: Enter the amount you wish to invest, then click 'Confirm amount'.

Step 7: Review your order, specifically the 'order processing date' which is when the buy order will begin processing. Confirm you are happy with the amount to invest, plus the fund selected, then check the tick-box that confirms you have read the Product Disclosure Statement. Click the 'Place order' button to complete your investment purchase.

Step 8: Your buy order is now placed and will show as 'Pending' within the drawer, as well as in the 'Transactions' tab in the Kernel platform.

Step 9: To check in on the status of your investment, you can navigate to the 'Transactions' tab as shown below.

Please note: Investment buys (trades) begin processing on the next available trading day (the exact date is displayed before you confirm your buy order) at approximately 12:05pm.

Once a trade is actioned, it will take 2 business days before the completed trades are reflected in your investments.
