Background Information

For employers in 2021, the top technology investments for employers are social recruiting and social media software. CareerArc, a software company, published a 2021 Future of Recruiting Study identifying the top websites used to find employer information. The top three are: Facebook, Glassdoor and LinkedIn. They also identified that social media is used by 86% of job seekers in their search to find a new role and apply to the roles directly through the social sites. This outlines the importance of a clear and extensive social presence to improve hiring rates. The study also identified that 92% of employers already use professional and social networks to recruit talents, ranking the highest in hiring tactics. This method ranked higher than job boards, employee referrals and job ads.

Online Platforms

Welcome to the Jungle

WTTJ is an online job search engine aimed at employers and job seekers. They carefully select the organization they work with, ranging from start-ups to larger tech companies. Their aim is to reinvent the recruitment process to make it more efficient, reliable and exciting.

Glassdoor is also a job search engine, however, includes insight into companies and their employees through tools such as employee reviews and personalized salary tools. We suggest setting your company up on Glassdoor to promote employees to leave reviews. This will help promote your company's strength and convince potential candidates to join.

LinkedIn is not technically a social media platform, however, is considered a social networking software. It allows for companies to create a profile, share posts and promote career opportunities. It allows potential candidates a platform to learn about your organisation and apply directly through LinkedIn.

Social media

Increasingly, companies are looking towards social media to advertise their job advertisements. The ads can be promoted through a small fee as little as £5 to target a specific audience. Platforms such as Instagram and Facebook are leading in this regard. It also allows for your organisation to set up a social media presence with a profile and share any news stories online to reach a larger audience than solely on your company website.
