Create, manage and use colors in costing

Keyline already supplies all CMYK, Pantone and HKS colours. In some cases, you may want to add more paints or varnishes. To do this, you can view, delete, edit and create additional colors in the admin area under Materials/Colors.

If you click on "New Custom color" in the upper right corner, you can assign any free name and also define a small color preview. This preview only helps to select the color in the calculation and has no effect on the production.

All stored colors can then be selected in the calculation. As soon as a color is used for the first time, Keyline automatically creates a corresponding material in the warehouse. You view and adjust prices for each color individually in material management.

Your own colours are interpreted as spot colours and are calculated in offset printing like any other colour. In digital printing, you can use the variables to take the color directly into account in formulas.

If you want to use opaque white for an HP Indigo, you can define your own value for this color:

+(IF(CONTAINS(backside colors, "opaque white"),4,0)

The example calculates 4 cents if the color "opaque white" is used on the back, otherwise 0 cents.
