The advantage is that with one click you can globally update all devices to the same status. No matter if settings, restrictions, updates, etc...

The central administration of the devices is worthwhile according to experience depending upon firm structure starting from approximately 10 devices. Since both the app and the iOS can be updated automatically, the administrative effort is manageable.
