Paper Import Instructions and Tips

You can import paper lists from your paper suppliers in the admin area under Materials/Papers.

Click the "Paper imports" button and then "New paper import" to initiate a new import.

Under the following link you will find all information on the requirements for the paper list and also an example file: Information about the paper import. You should also send this link to your suppliers and ask them to send you your price list in this format.

Using the available sample file, you can also adapt the delivered paper lists before the import if necessary.

Experience has shown that most paper suppliers (at some point) can deliver a usable and correct list. Persistence pays off! 😉

Once you have selected and uploaded the supplier and the paper list to be imported, Keyline checks it for completeness and errors. The result is displayed in an overview after the check.

Keyline gives you under "Description" an info what caused the error, or whether information is missing.

Red messages cannot be imported. You have to correct these by editing the list again or ignore the error via the button, i.e. this position is excluded during the import.
Yellow messages are imported on request. Keyline also gives you detailed information on the problems involved.

If the check is successful, a random generator will show you some papers with prices. You can display further samples and check the information and prices.

Important: Only when everything on your side is ok you release the list via "Approve all papers". Keyline  imports all papers and prices as they are defined in the list. So you always have the possibility to check the import again.

By the way: We want to avoid importing via lists in the future and use direct interfaces instead. Data exchange through the import of files is an emergency solution and does not correspond to the technical state of the art of the 21st century. Therefore, data import through our interfaces is to take place in the medium term.
If you actively approach the suppliers with this wish, we hope that this issue will soon be addressed seriously by the suppliers.
