On the one hand, documents can be printed directly on the web (i.e. via the browser on the PC or Mac). Any printer connected to your PC or Mac can be used for this purpose. 

If you want to print out delivery notes or the material or product notes via the iPad, then you need an Airprint-capable printer. Most new printers now support this format. 

You can then select the printer directly from the iPad.
