Production resources are all the cost centres in production – whether they are a machine or a worker.
In the admin area under Settings > Production resources, existing production resources can be edited, duplicated or created.
To create a resource, click “New production resource”. You can select a resource from the template catalogue or create a completely new resource of your own.
Production resource settings are divided into four areas:
General
Set the name, category (for example, offset press, digital press, cutting machine or worker) and hourly cost
Assign branches
A corresponding production warehouse is created automatically and can be used for stock movements
For printing presses (such as offset presses), also configure printing units, coating units and perfecting units. This affects variables such as “Number of printing passes”
Optional: define format restrictions (printing presses only!)
Specifications
Define individual performance values here
Each specification can later be used as a variable in formulas
Set the input type (for example, number, currency or yes/no) and unit (such as pieces, sheets or minutes)
These values are for reference – units are not converted automatically
Capabilities & formulas
Define the capabilities the production resource can perform
Enter formulas for setup time, production time, cleanup time and waiting time
You can also define additional costs independent of time here (for example, click costs for digital printing)
The TRIP() function can automatically trigger warnings or errors for certain parameters, such as when a limit is exceeded
Availability
Define the regular availability of the production resource here
For resources in the “Worker” category, you can enter several people. This increases the calculated daily production capacity
Individual capacity increases can be made flexibly on the planning board
You can add new machines at any time from the production resources overview.
You can find many common machines using the integrated search in the template catalogue. You can use a machine template as it is, or take just certain parts of its formulas.
⚠️ Please note: the formulas and values in the templates are only examples and must be adapted to your own production!
