Develop formulas and work with variables

Each operation corresponds to a capability assigned to a means of production. This capability is then filled with calculation formulas.

For the duration times, the corresponding formulas can be stored separately according to preparation time, execution time and clean-up time. You can also define a formula for the waiting time until the start of the next operation. (e.g. drying phases)

The basis for the formulas are the variables. In addition to the fixed variables defined by Keyline, the specifications defined in the means of production and the specifications defined under Further processing can also be used as variables. You see the symbol </> at the end of the input fields there is a list of all variables and functions which can be used.

In the case of additional time-independent costs, additional production costs that are not based on a time calculation, such as click costs in digital printing, can be displayed as internal or external costs using a formula.

The waste rate required for the work process is defined under wast. On the one hand this can be specified as a percentage, on the other hand a fixed number of sheets. Thus, the material requirement including waste is recursively calculated from back to front, taking into account all operations used in the production flow.

Inline support for work processes: If an inline option is selected, this work process can be carried out together with the previous work processes on the same production equipment (e.g. folding and cutting on one machine). Time and material recording are then combined. It is also possible to choose that an operation must be carried out coupled, so this capability is only available if the previous operation is running on the same means of production.

It is planned that the operations will then be combined. Currently, both operations are still displayed.
