For each production task carried out on the relevant production resource, a capability is created and can be given calculation formulas.
Under Times, you can store separate formulas for setup time, execution time and clean-up time. You can also define a formula for the waiting time until the next production task starts (for example, for drying phases).
Variables are the basis of formulas.
In addition to Keyline’s fixed system variables, you can also use:
• the production resource’s specifications
• and the specifications defined under Finishings
as variables.
The </> symbol at the end of the input fields opens a list of all available variables and functions you can use.
Under additional time-independent costs, production costs that are not based on time — such as click costs in digital printing — can be represented as internal services or external costs using a formula.
Under Waste, you define the waste required for the production task. It can be specified either as a percentage or a fixed value. The material requirement, including waste, is then calculated recursively from back to front, taking all production tasks in the production flow into account.
When you create a new production resource from our templates, it already contains example formulas. However, every user has different requirements for formulas and the underlying calculations.
Important: Formulas should be as simple as possible and only as complex as necessary.
