Probably the most important part of costing.
In the top row, use the check mark to select the quantity to produce. Use the paper plane to decide whether the quantity tier should appear in the quote. (This is useful if, for example, you want to compare an old quantity tier while costing without showing it to the customer in the quote.)
In the second row, you can view the planned imposition, check the production flow, define the quantity and versions, and duplicate the entire product if the customer wants quotes for several quantity tiers. (In practice, it makes sense to finish configuring the product completely and duplicate the quantity tiers only at the end.)
• Printing mode:
Set the printing technique, printing presses, imposition, optional number of ups, default bleed and folding pattern here. You can also allow printing inside the gripper margin if the order permits it (e.g. if there is enough white margin in the layout, or you want to print at final size). The gripper margin can be defined individually for each machine (Admin/Production resources).
If the product should not be folded even though a folding pattern is selected, you can prevent the production task from being created here.
• Cutting:
Define how cutting is done here — for example, with gutter cuts or only separation cuts — and how many ups move on to finishing.
• Paper:
Select the printing material here. All papers imported from lists or created individually by hand are listed here. If the format still needs to be cut for printing, enter the print sheet size under “Pre-cut format”. Keyline then creates the “Pre-cutting” production task automatically.
• Signatures:
Change the folding pattern here if Keyline has not already selected the one you want. All technically possible patterns are listed. If a pattern is missing, create it yourself in Admin under Templates/Folding patterns.
• Overall product:
Here you can see the planned production time, calculated weight and dimensions. You can adjust individual weights and the total weight manually if Keyline cannot calculate them correctly because parameters are missing.
