Changes during production

Make adjustments during production

Written by Patric

You can adjust your print products even when they are already in production.
Select the product you want to change and click “Change product”.

You can now make changes to the product, logistics, production tasks and services.

In the cost comparison, you can see the cost changes between the original quote and actual production — just as you already know from post-calculation.

You can also adjust the selling price manually.

At the end, you receive a detailed overview of all planned changes to the product and can specify whether the change was requested internally or by the customer.

This is then shown in post-calculation. You can adjust the unit price manually accordingly.

When jobs are completely rescheduled after “Changes during production”,
it can take up to 10 minutes for them to appear on the iPad, as all old production tasks have been deleted and the new production tasks are scheduled completely afresh. It is best to start a new manual planning run on the planning board.

The iPad app will also receive an update soon. Alongside some smaller improvements, we will improve various use cases, for example when a product changes while a user is currently working in one of its production tasks.
If this happens to you, simply log out of the app briefly and log back in. The entire product will then be reloaded with all the new tasks.

To summarise:

  • Whether quantity, number of versions, material or even printing technology — all can be adjusted quickly and easily during production.

  • Changing machines during production is no problem either. (Simply click the desired task and select the desired production resource, just as you would during a calculation.)

  • Production tasks that have already been completed are reopened and can be worked through again. The times already recorded are taken into account.

  • As you already know from calculation, Keyline displays the production flow. You can see both the new and the old production task, giving you a direct overview of the changes.

  • For each change, you can mark whether it was requested internally or by the customer — so you can take this into account when setting a new price or invoicing.

  • In the cost comparison, you can also intervene manually and adjust the selling price.

  • All changes are shown directly in post-calculation.

  • If the product description was not adjusted manually, it updates completely as well, so you can send your customer a new order confirmation with the updated information straight away.
