Import X-Pages-Keyline into Excel

X-Keyline-Requested-Page in Excel

Written by Patric

As described on our API page, records are retrieved in pages.

A GET request retrieves a maximum of 100 records at a time.

Older data is on additional pages, which must be retrieved separately by extending the GET query if required for statistics or reports, for example.

In this article, we take a quick look at how to extend the GET request header so that you can also retrieve older data.

Initial data retrieval, including extending the GET request header

If you are creating a new connection in Excel, you can add extra headers directly when entering the connection details.

To do this:

  • Click “Add header” (1).

  • Enter the values for the additional header directly (2).

This lets you retrieve specific older pages and conveniently make larger amounts of data from Keyline available in Excel.

If you like, I can also show you a small example configuration!

If your query already exists, you can also extend the GET request header directly.

The following section explains how.

Extend the GET request header

You can edit your existing query (see the article linked above) directly in the Power Query Editor.

The simplest approach:

  1. Right-click the existing query → Duplicate (1)

  2. Then edit the header (2).

Important:

  • The key for the additional header is:

    X-Keyline-Requested-Page

  • The value is the page number you want to retrieve (e.g. 2, 3, 4, etc.).

This lets you retrieve specific older records from Keyline without changing your original query.

This method is particularly useful for extensive reports or historical analyses.

Each query will give you a separate worksheet in your Excel workbook, and you can then combine your data however you like.
