How the new warehouse in Keyline works

Written by Patric

As soon as a product enters production, a pre-reservation is created for the required quantity of a material.

Over-reservation is possible. This means the available quantity can become negative.

As soon as the production task switches to “Ready”, the status changes to “Reservation”. This means a fixed quantity of material is firmly reserved from a specific warehouse. The material must physically exist before the production task can be started or completed. If the quantity is unavailable, it must be put into stock.

If pre-reservations are deleted, Keyline will try to create new pre-reservations. The same applies to reservations.

You can disable stock management for individual materials. This can be useful for inks or other small supplies, for example.

All material movements are available at material level.

The overview of (pre-)reservations shows all planned consumption. This ensures no other product can consume material that is already reserved. The reservation would have to be deleted first. As soon as a production task is completed, the reservation is automatically deleted.

If less material is available than is currently pre-reserved, a negative stock balance is displayed.

The material overview shows all materials currently required. Here you can also see negative stock balances and put material into stock or order it directly.
