If a seller sent you a link to pay through KeySavvy and you want to make sure it's legitimate before doing anything, you're being smart β verifying first is exactly the right instinct. Here's how.
Check the URL
A real KeySavvy payment link will start with www.keysavvy.com.
If the link uses a slightly different spelling (like "key-savvy.com", "keysavvy-support.com", or any misspelling of our name), do not click it. Forward it to us and we'll confirm whether it's legitimate.
What a real KeySavvy email looks like
Any email from us comes from an @keysavvy.com address. We never email from a free webmail address (gmail, yahoo, outlook) and we never use lookalike domains. The seller themselves can email you from any address β but anything claiming to be from KeySavvy will always end in @keysavvy.com.
The only exception is if you're using one of our integrated partners such as Cars & Bids, Hemmings, Hagerty, or Vancamper.
Things we will never do
Email you wire transfer instructions. If you received an "invoice" or wire instructions by email, this is likely a scam.
Email or call you with "alternate" or "updated" wire instructions. Always use the wire instructions shown in your dashboard.
Pressure you to pay urgently or threaten to cancel a deal if you don't pay quickly.
If anything you've received conflicts with the above, treat it as a scam.
Common scams that use our name as cover
We've received reports of the following: someone advertises a vehicle on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or another site, uses our name to seem trustworthy, then sends a fake link or asks for payment outside our platform. The seller might claim they're "out of state", "deployed", or "in a hurry" to push you toward paying without verifying. If a deal feels rushed, or if the link or payment instructions seem off, slow down and contact us before paying.
Still not sure? Contact us before you pay
We'd rather answer one extra question than have anyone lose money. Forward the email or screenshot the message you received, and chat with us before submitting any payment. If the deal is real on our end, we'll confirm. If it isn't, you've avoided a scam.
