When a dealer sells a vehicle to an in-state buyer, they must abide by a variety of in-state dealer regulations. For this reason, KeySavvy only supports dealer sales where the buyer and dealer are in different states.
Can a dealer use KeySavvy to process the used EV tax credit?
Yes, as long as the dealer is in a different state. If the dealer is in the same state, we recommend asking them to register with the IRS immediately, if they haven't already. It's a simple process and the IRS will approve their application and allow advance payments 15 days after registration.
