How to Invite Customers to Join Your Referral Program After Checkout

Learn how to get your post purchase program's signup form added to your checkout.

Launching a post-purchase referral program automatically invites your customers to promote your brand after they complete a purchase. By adding an affiliate signup form to your Shopify checkout, shoppers can seamlessly join your referral program right from the 'Thank You' and/or 'Order Status' page. This makes it easy to turn happy customers into affiliates, helping you drive more word-of-mouth referrals and repeat sales.

Note: If you have an older Shopify store that hasn't yet migrated to Shopify's extensible checkout, please reach out to us for assistance with installing your form.


Before adding your affiliate signup form to the Shopify checkout, make sure you've selected Post Purchase in the General Program settings for the program you want linked to the post-purchase invite.

Now, follow the steps below to begin adding your affiliate signup form to your checkout:

1. Go to Shopify Settings

2. Go to Checkout > Under Configurations, click Customize

3. On the top left, click on Sections

4. Top middle, click the checkout dropdown > select which checkout page you want to add signup form to:

Thank You Page

Select Thank you to add signup form to thank you page

Order Status Page

Select Order status to add signup form to order status page

Note: The following steps will be the same, regardless of the checkout page you select.

You can add your signup form to your 'Order details' or your 'Order summary' on both the Thank you and Order Status page.

5. Click Add app block in either section on the lefthand menu > select Kickbooster affiliate signup

6. Next, Kickbooster's app block will be added to the editor of your selected checkout page, allowing you to choose the placement of the form using the preview editor. Remember to click 'Save' once you're done.

Note: If you've added the signup form to one checkout page and want to include it on the other, simply use the dropdown menu at the top center to select the other page and then follow steps 5 and 6.

By following these steps, you’ll have the post-purchase affiliate signup form installed and ready to go in your Shopify checkout. This feature will help you grow your referral program by capturing customers' interest at the perfect moment—right after they've completed a purchase.
