In order to track referrals and prevent you from paying commissions on failed, cancelled, or refunded pledges, Kickbooster needs to be added as a Collaborator to your Kickstarter campaign.

By adding we can monitor which pledges come through Kickbooster affiliate links, and report on referral activity in both you and your affiliates' Kickbooster dashboards throughout the duration of the campaign.

As a Collaborator, we can also monitor any decreases (pledge refunds/cancellations) in the amount raised through Kickbooster affiliate links so that you don’t pay commissions on any funds that you don’t end up collecting through your Kickstarter campaign.

How much access will Kickbooster need?

We don't need access to anything other than to the Backer Report and Dashboard so we can pull in the necessary details we need to verify a referred pledge.

Please note that we DO NOT require Editor access to your campaign in order to sync the pledges. All we need is Fulfillment access to pull in the information we need. 

What information is Kickbooster syncing?

When our app syncs to your campaign page, we are pulling in the following information:

  • Backer Email (so we can cross-reference with your affiliates and verify any self-referrals)

  • Confirmation that the pledge is successful (this will remove commissions on any pledges that were cancelled/refunded from your final invoice)
