Understanding the 13 Trip Statuses used in Trip Scheduler

Updated over 5 months ago

Trip statuses help you quickly understand what’s happening with a ride at any point in its lifecycle. This article defines each status used in Trip Scheduler and explains how to read the Events Log to see what actions have been taken on a trip from creation through completion.

Assignment Accepted: Indicates that the transportation provider has received the trip from Trip Scheduler, in Trip Assistant.

Completed: Indicates that the ride is complete.

Denied: Indicates that someone in Trip Scheduler denied a member’s request for transportation. The reason for denial is visible in the Trip Details page.

Expired: Indicates that the ride has passed its date of service with no action taken in Trip Scheduler.

Approval Pending: Indicates that the trip has been escalated for approval.

Provider No Show: Indicates that the trip was accepted by a transportation provider but no action was taken on the trip. This status will appear as "Missed" in Trip Assistant.

Requester Cancelled: Indicates that the trip was cancelled on Trip Scheduler for a reason that can be seen in the trip details. (Ex: Created in error, Duplicate)

Assignment Dispatched: Indicates that the transportation provider has dispatched the trip to their dispatch software, effectively accepting the trip. When a driver is assigned to the trip, that will be reflected in the events log, but the trip will still show the assignment dispatched status.

Member Cancelled: Indicates that the member cancelled their trip.

Member No Show: Indicates that the member could not be located at the pickup location.

Assignment Booked: Indicates that the request for Gas Mileage Reimbursement, Ancillary Services, or Public Transportation has been successfully booked.

Ready to Assign: Indicates that this trip has been created and is awaiting assignment to a transportation provider.

Trip in Progress: This indicates that the trip is currently being performed, to see what is currently happening with a trip, click on the trip in the all trips table to see the latest events in the events log, on the right hand side of the trip page. (see below)

Understanding The Events Log

The events log shows the full lifecycle of the trip, from creation to final status. These events come from Kinetik, from Transportation Provider’s dispatch platforms, and from Payors. You can mouse over events in the events log to learn more.
