Manage Account Roles

Assign Account Roles to your employees to give them more access to People by Wagepoint and allow them to manage employees.

The Account Owner and HR Managers have the ability to assign roles to users. There is no limit to the amount of users that can be assigned to roles, with the exception of the Account Owner role. HR Managers are very similar to the Account Owner (both admin roles), however the Account Owner is the only user who can assign the HR Manager role to employees.

Once you have a profile created for a user, click Settings then Manage Roles from your company navigation to set an employee's permission level. Note that new employees automatically have the employee level of access.

Next, open the section for the role you'd like to assign by clicking the down arrow. Then, click to add the user in the specific role.

Choose the employee from the list of users and click Add to finish the process.

Please note: if an employee is not available in the list of users, they must first be removed from any other role they are assigned to. Users can not be assigned to more than one role.

Here are the roles in People by Wagepoint, and what each user can do:

Account Owner

  • Has access to all features, employees, and data.

  • Can assign users to any role.

  • Can be assigned to an employee as their HR Manager or Manager from an employee's profile page.

HR Managers

  • Have access to all features, employees, and data.

  • Can assign users to the Manager and HR Support User roles.

  • Can be assigned to an employee as their HR Manager or Manager from an employee's profile page.

Managers

  • Have access to assigned employees' bio, time off, notes that are shared with them, and objectives sections.

  • Managers are unable to view any personal profile information or files for any employee. This includes not being able to see salary, bank account or onboarding information with sensitive data such as social security numbers.

  • Are responsible for responding to time off requests submitted by employees to whom they're assigned.

  • Can be assigned as a Reviewer for employee reviews, and can see reviews they have participated in as a Reviewer.

HR Support Users

  • An employee-level user that has access to the tasks section and tools page for data entry.

  • Do not have access to any employee or company data, aside from the above.

  • Can be assigned to onboarding tasks on the onboarding tasks template.

Employee (default)

  • Has access to Employee Directory, bio pages of other employees, and can see the company calendar with approved employee time-off, company events, and holidays.

  • Can see and update their own profile information.

  • Cannot see Custom Data Types within their own profile.
