Employee performance review templates in People by Wagepoint allow you to create custom questions that can be applied to any new reviews for your employees and your managers. Before creating a review, create your template to allow your users to answer specific questions within a review.
Tip: People by Wagepoint's traditional review layout (employee, manager, and company feedback sections) is still able to be used to conduct your reviews. Choose the "Basic Review Template" from the template library to use the traditional layout.
To start building a template, click the Reviews navigation from the company (purple) view, and then click the option called Manage Templates.
From there, click Add Review Template from the top right hang side of your screen.
Next, add some context to your template, like a title and a description. Note that only HR Managers can see the description when viewing the template itself. All users will be able to see the name of the template within the review.
Now for the fun part! Select the types of questions you'd like to ask during the review. You can choose a text box answer, multiple or single answers, yes/no, a rating scale, and a date chooser. Once you select the question type, enter the question and answer choices if applicable.
Tip: to keep reviews moving, keep questions short. People by Wagepoint will limit the characters to 160 for each question. We encourage you to split longer questions into multiple questions for easier understanding!
From here, choose who you would like to see the question-- only the Manager, only the Employee, or both. You can also make the questions required by user. Note that users will not be able to see questions OR responses if they are not visible to them.
Tip: For questions that you'd like only the Employee or only the Manager to answer, but both parties see the response, make the question visible to both and required for the desired answering party. Hiding questions and answers is useful for confidential or candid feedback that only HR Managers and the answering party can see.
Once your main questions are complete, consider adding follow up questions. These are answered after the feedback questions have been shared and discussed.
Tip: think of follow up questions as conversation starters for the future. Examples like, "How do you feel about the year ahead?" and "What's one thing you'd like to accomplish next year outside of work?" can be great insights for goal setting.
Once you are finished creating your questions, save the template. It will be available to use in a review. You can even edit, delete, or duplicate the templates from the Manage Templates section.
Tip: Templates that have already been added to a review will not change if the template is edited. The edited version will only be able to be added to new reviews.
You can even add a fun emoji to your templates to differentiate them from others. Note that all users will see that emoji in the review.
Now you're ready to create your reviews. Check out how to do that here.
